A bar or club can offer phone charging without involving staff by installing a self-service power bank rental station near the entrance, the bar or the cloakroom. Customers tap a contactless card, take a charged power bank and stay with their group while the phone charges. Staff keep serving drinks, and customers leave at the end of the night with a working phone.
In short
- Customers serve themselves at the station, so nobody hands a phone over the bar.
- Staff focus on serving. The venue does not lend chargers or free up sockets behind the counter.
- Customers keep the phone in hand while it charges and return the power bank at any station.
- The venue provides a visible spot and a power outlet, and shares in the rental revenue.
Why offer phone charging in a bar or club?
Because the phone is how customers pay, find their friends, share the night and get home. When the battery runs low, a customer starts thinking about leaving to charge it, or asks the staff for help. A phone charging station keeps them in the venue with their group and gives them a simple answer that does not depend on the bar team.
We look at how a charged phone keeps guests spending and staying in power bank rental for venues.
How does a power bank station keep staff free to serve?
The station takes the payment, hands out the power bank and takes it back. Staff are not part of the rental at any step:
- Tap. The customer taps a contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the station.
- Take. A charged power bank unlocks, with two built-in cables, USB-C and Lightning for iPhone.
- Return. The customer pushes it into a free slot at any MasBattery station.
There is no app, no registration and nothing to scan, which matters when the phone is already at 2%. The bartender does not take phones behind the bar, lend cables, find a free socket or keep track of whose phone is whose. On a busy night, that time goes back to serving.
What changes for the customer?
The customer keeps the phone in hand the whole time. With a phone charging behind the bar, the customer has to come back, wait for staff and hope nobody picked up the wrong one. With a portable charger from the station, they go back to the dance floor or their table and keep using the phone while it charges.
Each power bank gives up to 1.5 charges, depending on the phone, with fast charging at up to 20 W through either cable. That helps a customer finish the night, call a taxi, find their friends and get home with a working phone.
Where should the station go in a bar or club?
Near the entrance, the bar, the cloakroom or a covered seating area are the usual spots. Stations are installed indoors or under cover, with a permanent power connection and clear visibility for customers.
There are two formats. The compact counter station with 12 power bank slots sits on the bar, a counter or its own stand. The floor-standing tower with a large screen and 48 slots suits an entrance or a busy walkway. In a larger club, or a venue with several rooms or floors, more than one station works better: customers pick up a power bank near where they are and return it near the exit on the way out.
What does the venue need to provide?
A visible spot for customers and a power outlet. MasBattery helps with installation, maintenance and technical support, with the exact scope set out in your proposal. Stations are monitored remotely, and support runs on WhatsApp in Spanish and English.
Stations can carry your venue's branding, and the station screens can carry sponsor advertising.
How do customers pay, and what does it cost them?
The price depends on the venue and is always shown on the station screen before the customer confirms, together with the daily maximum and the hold. When the customer taps, a temporary hold is placed on the card, not a charge. On return, only the rental time is charged and the rest of the hold is released. The card statement shows MASBATTERY.COM.
For the customer's side in detail, see how much it costs to rent a power bank and charges, holds and returns.
What if a customer leaves with the power bank?
Customers can return the power bank at any MasBattery station, so a customer who leaves with it can still bring it back later. If it is not returned within the period shown on the station screen at the start of the rental, the replacement cost shown there is charged and the power bank is the customer's to keep. MasBattery support handles issues and unreturned power banks, and your staff do not need to step in.
How does the venue earn from it?
The venue shares in the rental revenue. The commercial model is tailored to the size and opening hours of each venue and set out in the proposal. How a revenue-share power bank rental works explains the model step by step, and buy charging hardware or work with an operator covers the work behind the service that you do not have to take on.
How does a bar or club get started?
Send us the type of venue, your opening hours, where you would like the stations and a contact person. We reply within one working day. MasBattery has had stations at a water park and a theme park on the Costa Blanca since August 2026.
