How much does it cost to rent a power bank?

The cost of renting a power bank at a MasBattery station is set by each venue, and it is always shown on the station screen before you confirm, together with the daily maximum and the hold. You pay only for the time you use the power bank. As an example only, and not a price list, a rental might cost €1 to €2 per 30 minutes; the price that applies is the one on the screen of the station in front of you.

Who sets the price of a power bank rental?

The venue. A hotel, a theme park, a bar or a festival each sets the price for its own phone charging stations, so the price can differ from one venue to another. Wherever you are, the station screen shows three things before you confirm:

1. The price, for a period of time.
2. The daily maximum, which caps what the rental time can cost in a day.
3. The hold, the amount temporarily held on your card while you have the power bank.

Nothing is charged until you have seen them and confirmed.

What does a typical price look like?

Prices are shown per period of time. For example, and only as an example, a venue might charge €1 to €2 per 30 minutes. This is not a MasBattery price list: the price that applies is always the one on the station screen.

Time is counted in started periods. If your rental runs into a new period, that period counts. At festivals and events, the organizer may also use a day or festival pass, or a custom structure. In every case the price is on the screen before you confirm.

What is the card hold, and is it a charge?

The hold is a temporary amount reserved on your card when you tap. It is not a charge. It covers the rental while you have the power bank.

When you return the power bank, only the rental time is charged and the rest of the hold is released automatically. Depending on your bank, the released hold can take 3 to 10 working days to disappear from your statement. If it still shows after 10 working days, message us and we will check it. What is the daily maximum?

The daily maximum is the most the rental time can cost in a day, however long you keep the power bank that day. It is shown on the station screen, next to the price and the hold, before you confirm. That way you know the most a day of charging can cost before you take the power bank.

What happens if I do not return the power bank?

If the power bank is not returned within the period shown on the station screen when you rent, the replacement cost shown there is charged and the power bank is yours to keep. If you still have it, return it to any MasBattery station before that period ends, or message us and we will tell you where the nearest one is.

What will I see on my card statement and receipt?

Your card statement shows MASBATTERY.COM. The Stripe receipt is issued by Vispromask S.L., which operates the rental service. If you need a receipt, message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected] with the station number and the time of your rental, and we will send it.

What if something goes wrong with a payment?

If you pay and no power bank comes out, the order is cancelled automatically and the full amount is refunded to your card. If you think you were charged twice or charged incorrectly, send us the station number and the time of your rental, and we will check it and refund anything charged in error. If a station was full or not working when you tried to return, message us straight away with the station number and the time.

Do I need an app or an account?

No. There is no app, no subscription and no account. You tap a contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, take a charged power bank and return it at any MasBattery station. The power bank is a portable charger with two built-in cables, USB-C and Lightning for iPhone, so you do not need your own cable. It gives up to 1.5 charges, depending on the phone, with fast charging at up to 20 W through either cable.

How do I rent a power bank?

1. Tap a contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the station, after checking the price, the daily maximum and the hold on screen.
2. Take the charged power bank that unlocks.
3. Return it by pushing it into a free slot at any MasBattery station.
